COLLINS CEMETERY These two graves are about 25 feet apart, in a brushy area one mile east of Naples, or four miles west of Bluffs, in Scott County, Illinois. At the time of these two burials, Scott County was still a part of Morgan County as Scott County was not set off until 1839. The grave of Anson Collins is only about 20 feet from the road and can be seen from the road when the vegetation is not too thick. A tree is growing directly in front of the tombstone. List of Tombstones To the memory of ANSON COLLINS who departed this life on the 15th of May, 1835 aged 40 years. He emigrated to this state from Litchfield, Ct., in 1817. This is the first grave that was opened in this burial ground. FOOT STONE: A. C. 1835 Sacred to the memory of ALMYRA, Infant daughter of Fred and Mary Collins, who departed this life Sept. 1, 18932 aged 15 months. FOOT STONE: A. C. 1832 The above words are exactly what is engraved on the stones. As the child died before Anson Collins, perhaps her body was moved here at a date later than the burial of Anson Collins.
